MacLife 101: How to create an Ad-hoc network

Whether you’re traveling, or in a situation where you need to use your iPad or iPhone where there is little or no Wi-Fi, there’s a solution, and it involves your Mac. With almost all Macs shipping in the past 10 years, you can instantly create a Wi-Fi or ethernet network by simply turning on a few switches in System Preferences. This is great for those times when you need a Wi-Fi or ethernet connection and don't have access to a router. Read more >>

Most Spectacular Show on Earth

There were many Pittsburg State University students present Saturday at the American Advertising Federation - Joplin Addy Awards.

They could have used a few more to help them carry out all of their gold and silver hardware. Pitt State students won 10 Gold Addys, 20 Silver, 1 Special Judges and 1 Best of Show award.

“Since becoming a faculty member, it is even more rewarding for me to watch my students accept these awards than to receive awards of my own,” said Christel Benson, an assistant professor in the Department of Graphics and Imaging Technologies. “For them to grasp the importance of their hard work and dedication in the classroom and stand confidently among professionals in this industry is the greatest satisfaction of all. The opportunity to compete in the ADDY awards allows them to see excellent examples of professional work and where they stand with their abilities.”

Student awards went to:

Summer Internships

Minuteman Press | Lawrence, KS
They would be using InDesign, pulling existing files and preparing jobs for production and
running our Konica Minolta digital imager.  My Operations Manager has been with me 19 years and is a excellent teacher and mentor.  I assure you the student will learn a ton about a small offset/digital/mail print shop.

Ideally, it would be a student from Topeka, Lawrence or KC.
Getting 3 month lodging here is hard and expensive.

Please visit our website (www.minutemanlawrence.com) to learn more about
our company.  Please let me know if you need anything else.

Global Prairie | Kansas City, MO
I would like to extend an invitation for anyone interested in a Kansas City based internship for the summer of 2013 to get in contact with myself. This is an awesome opportunity to work a PAID internship with one of the fastest growing ad groups in the country. We've been in operation for 4 years, with Kansas City as our hub…and have recently added offices in NYC, Fort Worth, Washington D.C., Denver and Cleveland. Attached are 4 pieces of collateral pertaining to the internship including an FAQ sheet, Poster, Brochure and Description.

Feel free to pass this information along to anyone that may be interested. Myself, our ECD and other members of the creative team will be reviewing portfolios and conducting interviews throughout the coming months, before ultimately deciding on a few candidates.
